Good start to the morning with the alumni Zoom call.
It was nice to see lots of my peers from my time in the castle. Everyone is doing well, which is nice to see.
The reading was about inventory – I shared how I do my daily reflections on this website, and that this helps me to remain sober. Hopefully, this website will also help other alcoholics to find their path to recovery too.
The therapist call has now been changed to a Friday morning, Thursdays seem to be cursed, as every time we have tried to do a call recently on a Thursday, something has gone wrong and we have not been able to do the session. This session went well, I’m on the right track. I need to get more involved with AA, find a sponsor, and attend more meetings. My main focus now is to set a new routine for when the aftercare is finished to keep this sobriety ball rolling.
I have to be proactive and not become complacent. Just because things are going well now, does not mean that I can relax. Recovery is always going to be ongoing, so I need to plan now and be prepared to adjust when the time comes to change my routine slightly again. This way I will put myself in a stronger position to handle daily life and a new routine.
Always be mindful, connect more with fellows and AA, and don’t become complacent
