Day 31.

Another early 6 am wake up.

The first lecture was on recovery and relapse.  I found it very informative, especially how Fear can lead to relapse, which can also stand for;

False Evidence Appearing Real

In the group, I shared my Future Self letter which received good feedback.  The feedback also made me realise how real relapse is and that the DBT tools, I have learnt so far in recovery, are important to apply when out the castle.

I became another buddy today.  Whilst having a chat with this peer on the way up to the castle, I found out this peer is very shy and not good around large groups of people.  I knew at this point that I would have to help make this peer feel comfortable and welcome in the castle, as it will take them some time to adjust, their is around 40 people in the castle now.  I also showed this peer a ‘safe’ space up by the Alpacas, so that if they ever needed some space, away from groups of people, this would be a good place to come.

This peer spent most of the day in their room, for which I let the nurses deal with the peer, as this was not my place to get involved.  I am here to focus on my own recovery.

A theme formed throughout the day as both evening lectures focused on getting on with the 12 steps and what steps 1-6 involved.

Finished Step 2 ready to share it with the group.

What will tomorrow bring?
