The morning started with an early wake-up and a trip to the hairdresser. I love getting a fresh cut as you feel so much, fresher.
This is my fellow’s second time in Scotland, with the first being the visit to the Castle, which was not a proper visit as we were confined to the castle grounds.
As it was fairly good weather today, raining on and off, but still hot, I decided to treat my guest to a sightseeing trip around Edinburgh and create nice memories for the first time in Scotland.
My fellow loves cats and has never been to a cat cafe, so I surprised my fellow by booking a slot at the cat cafe on the Grassmarket. It was my second time at this cafe, which was nice, but slightly underwhelming as there were not that many cats. They are looked after though and some were sleeping, but for me, it was about creating memories, for which we both had a good visit.
After the cafe, I took my fellow on a short walk around the old town, doing the touristy thing and showing my fellow some sights of Edinburgh, and of course, I had to take my fellow up the Royal Mile and to the Castle. The stands are up now for the concerts and Tattoo, so we could not enjoy the view it provides without entering, yet it was a nice photo opportunity. My fellow did say to me though it was overwhelming the number of tourists that visit Edinburgh, I suppose it is something that you just get used to.
We then had a nice drive to Queensferry, so that I could let my fellow see the 3 Bridges. By this point the sun was back out, so we had lunch and relaxed overlooking the views.
Overall we both had a really nice day and a very nice catch-up. It felt warming to show my fellow the sights of Edinburgh.
Looking forward to my second fellow arriving tomorrow and the catch-up meal with other fellows.
Gratitude – Today I am grateful for my fellow’s friendship and the support they provided me in the castle, and now the ongoing friendship.
