120 days sober today! This new life of sobriety is filling me with a new joy in my heart, a new routine, new friendships and a healthier and happier way of living.
It was a nice start to the morning with one of my fellow guests treating us to a cooked breakfast. A good breakfast in the morning lines up your day.
We met up with some fellows from the Castle for some bowling and mini golf. It was good to see these fellows again and catch up from Sunday. Tonight is the first time in many years and my first time in sobriety that I have had fun without having a drink. It felt amazing to socialise knowing that I will remember this night, have not caused any upsets, and will wake up tomorrow with no feeling of guilt or doubt thinking about the night before. Socialising with other fellows has given me a more positive feeling within myself that I can have a good time sober.
I was treated to another cooked meal of Mac and Cheese by one of my fellow guests. Need to not get used to this, breakfast and now dinner. After dinner, we had some evening reflection and planned the day for tomorrow.
Today has been a very nice day and has made me think about how fellowship within recovery is essential to maintain sobriety. As fellows we are all going through the same, be it on different paths with different challenges, but we do all have a connection of addiction, and how we handle our challenges. Sharing with each other and being mindful of each other when together provides us all community support that reinforces our recovery.
As fellows together, we are stronger and we recover.
Gratitude – I am grateful for the wonderful company of fellows today playing bowling and mini golf,
the breakfast and dinner cooked by a fellow, and the dishes and tidying up from my fellow guests.
