Golden Egg Hunt

March 25, 2023

Day 27.

Had a 30 min lie-in as it’s the weekend, 6.30 am wake up.

Had a very chilled cat today and decided not to do any step work, instead have a break, socialise and enjoy the day.

Bonded some more with some close peers today.  Understanding a bit more about them and also talking a bit more about myself.  Sharing stories feels good, and helps to get some feelings and emotions out.

The day started with a nice walk up the hills into the countryside.  It was just under a 2-mile loop up and back down.  Took around 45 minutes and felt nice to be out in the countryside with fresh air and beautiful scenery.  It was also very relaxing at a nice pace.  About 30 peers did the walk, so plenty of conversation was had.

Then it was the Easter egg hunt around the castle grounds.

The clue was given that the ‘Golden Egg was being steamed’.  I knew instantly where the golden egg was, so when the hunt started, everyone ran off to where most of the eggs would be.  I just casually walked around and then down to where I knew the Golden Egg would be, and low and behold, I found it – in an outside air vent.

The team I was on had only collected 6 eggs in total, but we had the Golden Egg, so it did not matter.

When we got back to the castle, only one other person on our team knew that I had the Golden Egg.  It was announced to all the peers that the Golden Egg had not been found yet, alongside 5 other eggs.  So everyone ran out again to find the eggs and the Golden Egg.  I just sat there casually laughing to myself, and the peers that had organised the egg hunt asked me why I was not going, I showed them the Golden Egg and they laughed.  When everyone came back, they were all confused about the Golden Egg, so it was announced it had been found.  I then showed it to all the other peers to laugh’s and sigh.

Our team had the least amount of eggs, but we came 2nd place as we had the Golden Egg.  We won one Easter egg for being 2nd and another Easter egg for having the Golden Egg. We were the only team with 2 Easter eggs, and we had collected the least amount of eggs overall.

Sometimes it pays off to have a strategy!

I gave one of the eggs as a prize for the quiz later that night, and then the team I was on won the quiz!  I got the Easter egg back again.

It was a nice relaxed day overall, and it was nice to bond with other peers.

Tomorrow will also be a chilled day, with some work and lots of free time
