This morning I dropped off my fellow guest at the train station. After some goodbyes, my fellow was on the way home. Now it is just me, myself and I.
I had a sombre feeling for most of today, as it has been a busy week with many fellows, including the lovely fellows that stayed with me.
Now that the week has passed, very quickly, it feels strange to be back on my own again. I have, however, built even stronger bonds with my fellows, for which we will all hopefully stay in close contact and meet up again soon, to create more memories.
Today I have been reflecting back on this magical week with other fellows, and all the activities that we have done. All completely sober!
Reflecting over the week, I have done something different every day, all filled with joy and fellowship;
- 1st guest, Realising this fellow was with me from Day 1
- Exploring Edinburgh and the Cat Cafe
- 2nd guest, Catch up with Castle fellows at a meal
- Castle Rehab Reunion
- North Berwick & Portobello
- 3rd guest, Bowling & Mini Golf
- Shopping Centres, Fish & Chips, Aftercare on Forgiveness
- Kayak on the canal, and taking a fellow to my home group
- Cinema and meal
- Falkirk Wheel and meal
- Church, Lunch and Rosslyn Chapel
You can have fun and live a life of sobriety, in fact, I have memories of every day, no issues have been caused, and no feelings of waking up the next day and thinking ”What did I possibly say or do last night?’.
I have thoroughly enjoyed all the time that I have spent with my fellows over the past week, and I have thoroughly enjoyed having some lovely fellows stay with me.
Staying sober is better! Create happy memories!
Gratitudes:
I am grateful for the fellowship
I am grateful for the fellows that stayed with me, providing me with company, laughs, cooking meals, tidying up and treating me
I am grateful to have a new life in sobriety
I am grateful for all the memories that have been made
I am grateful for the friendships that have been made stronger
I am grateful to be sober another day!
